Bonus Post! Elephants & Tea Storytelling Soirée

My article "Into the Abyss" was published! I went up to Buffalo NY to speak at the magazine release party.

Last Friday after work my boyfriend and I started the long trek up to Buffalo, New York for the Elephants & Tea magazine release party. At the beginning of the summer I had submitted an article that I wrote for the substack, thinking that it was a perfect fit for their September issue on “The Ghosts of Cancer”. If you’re a reader of the substack, the prose will be familiar from my “Mise-En-Abyme: Recognizing Yourself in the Mirror” article. Although, they smartly changed the title to “Into the Abyss” which is less esoteric and more accessible.

The drive was about seven hours and we went late into the night arriving at about 1:00am to the hotel. We sang our hearts out to OK Computer and Jeff Buckley in the car, so it wasn’t that bad. My boyfriend had planned out a buffalo wing trail that we followed like a pilgrimage from dive bar to dive bar. If you must know, it was our opinion that Gabriel’s Gate, a pub in Allentown had the best wings that we tried on our trip.
