One of my most successful long-term projects at work was the release of my report “For All The Living & The Dead: Harmonizing Activation & Solace in Cemeteries” that I completed writing last fall. (That title might sounds like some academic jargon, but the premise is easy to grasp, I promise!)
Since then I was accepted to present on the Death and its Spaces panel at SECAC in Richmond Virginia last October, and now my exploits have sent me to Athens, Greece to present at the annual International Conference on Cemetery studies! I met so many brilliant people from all over the world working on incredibly fascinating projects. A few of them have told me that my presentation inspired them to add the cemetery where I work to their case-studies! Hooray for new scholarship!
